Dear Friends,

On any given day, more than 100 adults and children call Prudence Crandall Center
home – finding safety in our shelter and then, a true “miracle” for many, a safe,
stable home they can finally call their own, free from abuse.

Survivors like Laila, who made the courageous decision to leave her abuser even though
she had no friends or family in this country, and literally nowhere else to turn.

Laila found the help she needed at Prudence Crandall Center and the “miracle” of
a safe, affordable apartment – which she turned it into a loving home for her children.

Can you imagine what your life would be like today during this public health
crisis if you didn’t have a safe & secure home for you and your family?

Laila recently sent us a donation of face masks and a note of thanks, stating
that she would “give the moon to the people who changed her path if she could.”

We thank YOU for making sure we can continue to be there for survivors
like Laila, her children, and all those who need us.

We truly are stronger together!

On behalf of the families, staff, and board of Prudence Crandall
Center, we send best wishes for the health & safety of you and your family.

Executive Director

#GivingTuesdayNow

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of generosity – a day to come together
and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

For many of our families, this means help with
groceries, rent, and so many basic needs.

For others, it means finding the safety & support they so desperately
need after months of sheltering-in-place with their abuser.

Click here to join the #GivingTuesdayNow movement to help
our communities heal, become more resilient, and move forward!
We would be honored if you would consider a gift to Prudence
Crandall Center today. Thank you.

Our Front Line

The need to move survivors from shelters into long-term homes has never
been more important. This is no easy task given the lack of affordable housing
in our state. Yet our bilingual housing coordinator, Marisol Carrasquillo, has
been doing just that, even in this shut-down world. Marisol inspires us not only
by her resourcefulness, but also in the way she gives of herself
24/7 to be a comfort for our clients in their time of need.

Heroes of Hope

It can be a helpless feeling to watch someone you love suffer in an abusive
relationship. Family & friends need support and understanding of their own.
Please know that we are always here to help. This week, we received
a note from Cindy, demonstrating that we truly are stronger together,
even if apart at this time.

Throwback Tuesday

This week’s #ThrowbackTuesday celebrates our ambassador Breana McNair
and her colleagues from Halloran Sage who gave up a day last fall to give our
hallway a fresh coat of paint, keeping it bright and inviting for the families
who call Rose Hill home. We’re so thankful to have these multi-talented
women as caring partners in our work!
